naseba is listed on the ?marche libre? of the Paris stock exchange.
The marche libre is a small exchange with little volume ? it is a perfect training ground for the future.
What I mean by ?training ground? is ? being a listed company is a completely new game with an incredible set of new rules and protocols ? politics, Boards, finance communications ? making sure targets are hit ?etc.
When I was first approached by an outside investor in the summer of 2006 ? I was explained the benefits of going private equity ? and/or doing a public listing. Essentially, the marche libre is like a ?private equity,? because it is a stock exchange listing with only a few shares holders in the company. My main interest in doing a ?listing? was the new ability I would have in buying companies with potential share swap deals.
Up until summer of 2006, I had funded the company 100% myself ? not even a loan from a bank ?
2007 has been a MASSIVE learning experience ? and as I type I chuckle to think at how little I knew about business a few years ago.
Being listed/going public is NOT like the movies ? naseba is neither Google nor Microsoft ?. although I understood clearly that it would take a couple years to get everyone talking about naseba ? thus getting volume in the stock ? the lack of volume definately took me a bit of time to get used to understanding.
Although I made what can be called a great amount of cash when I sold a portion of naseba ?. my interest was not in making a quick buck.
I own a bit more than 41% fully diluted (the term for when all stock options and shares are actioned) I am the biggest single share holder and the Chairman of the company? I have a Board which works with me in developing the overall strategy for the company.
I have 4 main shareholders (whom I know personally) ? each of these 4 investors are committed to next 4+ years ? and it gives me great pride to see how much these Gentlemen believe in me, my team and our business model.
My current board is a perfect fit and we work great together ensuring the company has a rock solid foundation to support our rapid growth.
In the future we will move to the Alternext (main Paris exchange) with our main goal of listing on the Eurolist within a couple of years.
I am certain my key managers as well as my board understand that I will not fail at driving the company to this level.
