yesterday I received a text wishing me a happy holidays from an old friend…
In the short text my friend told me that he was grateful for everything I have done for him and he was having a perfect day… he ended the text by saying he was “proudly wearing” his naseba t-shirt (he does not work for naseba)
I replied to his text: “Fabien, Nic, Sophie, me, and many many many others wear their naseba t-shirt all the time, even when things are not going easy and the way they want things to go…”
In the coming year … things might not always go perfectly/smoothly/easily….etc on your proverbial climb, whatever your mountain is.
…and unfortunately with the good times most often comes an occassional challenging time….
are you going to react to challenges like most people do … give up, turn around and look for easier, cushier climbs???
OR
keep focused and keep climbing….
It is easy for my old friend to wear his naseba t-shirt when he is having a great day …. but unfortunately, when this person underperformed and did not “make his job” happen the way he was expected, and unfortunately, got put back into a position where he had to perform — he decided to take his naseba shirt off.
Please do not get me wrong …. this is not about naseba … this blog is about staying focused and committed to something even when things are not going exactly the way you want them to go.
We start a diet … give up after we don’t instantly see results…start running….but give up when our legs hurt….work more focused and committed for a bit…but get distracted by those that do no want the same thing….set goals, but don’t achieve them…
Why???
I am not preaching…because I sometimes start something only to stop, and I always find a good reason why…example, my french is still not perfect when in truth I should speak French like a French person…I have lived here for 7 years.
In 2008–I challenge you (myself included) to stay focused and committed to our goals or whatever we set out to do … even when you are facing challenges, difficulties, and or things that are not cushy.
success is a choice
