I have three main passions: food, cigars and adventuring.
food …
My best friend whom lives in Singapore and I have a dinner club “FND” (friday night dinner) - it started in 1998 in Tokyo and since then the two of us have traveled to 10 countries, as well as all over Italy and France just for lunches and dinners … culminating into the “FND” … a sacred meal which occurs on a “Friday” and only the two of us are allowed to attend, meaning no other friends or family — even our wives do not join the “FND” dinner.
My wife and I travel to countries and organize trips around restaurants — particularly all over France. There are few things that I would rather do more than go for a nice dinner — especially, in France.
cigars …
I am a big cigar collector and probably enjoy 3-5 cigars a day. When in Monaco, every morning I go to the same cafe - get 2 diet cokes, sit at the same table and enjoy a Cohiba Siglio V. A true cigar smoker does not inhale the smoke, only tastes the flavor of the smoke in their mouth — so my cigar smoking does not bother my training at all … I imagine for non cigar smokers, it is difficult to explain the relaxing pleasure of smoking a Cuban cigar.
I also collect humidors — I have 12 … my favorite humidor is my first one, I received as a present 6 years ago — it sits on my desk in my Monaco office — a gift from an old friend whom was instrumental in helping launch naseba.
adventuring …
I have traveled to 77 countries … I have run many marathons and climbed mountains … and to be honest, I have done these races, climbs and travels just for the adventure - not just the challenge to get to the top or to win — but the adventure of experiencing the world.
All my travels and adventures have helped open my mind — countries and people are not like what we are told to believe by the news. During all my travels throughout the Arab or Muslim world and in the Middle East — I have NEVER had an Arab or Muslim be rude nor aggressive to me …NEVER … in fact, some of the nicest people I have ever met in my life are Jordanian, Syrian and Iranian…
