Until I moved from America in 1994 at the age of 22, I had only visited two countries in my life.

13 years later, I have traveled to 75 countries and I will go to Iran in the beginning of April.

Unfortunately, we live in a world today where the american-centric media feeds us massive misinformation…and forms ideas/opinions on places, people and issues for us.

A perfect example — I went to Moscow in November. I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton, during my three days there I went to two of the top restaurants, a club owned by some billionare, a cigar bar, sight seeing, etc … I had a great trip.

Right when I came back from Moscow, maybe even the day after my trip, headline news in several american newspapers and CNN was: “Moscow most expensive city in the world.”

There is absolutely NO WAY that Moscow is as expensive as London; Paris; Berlin; New York — not even close to as expensive as Monaco.

No way.

In Moscow - I stayed at the best hotel. I ate at the top restaurants and still spent less than I do when I go home to Miami….even the cigar bar in Moscow which is “members only” that a rich russian friend of mine from Monaco took me to … even that was cheaper than the one I used to go to in London.

But CNN is now telling us that through their extensive research and comparisons that Moscow is now the most expensive city in the world….

it is almost like they are telling us “DO NOT GO!!! ”

I went to Egypt for a few days last month and visisted and physically touched and climbed onto the pyramids in Giza. Amazing life time experience. Egypt might not be as safe as Dubai…but surely, it is not as dangerous as we are told in America.

How many people don’t go to Egypt to see the pyramids because they have been scared away by what they have seen on the news/ and or are told by the press?

I have not yet told my family in america about my trip planned to Iran .. .surely they will be worried because we, the people are told on TV that Iran is evil. I am greatly looking forward to my 5 day trip to Iran.

In August, I will be going to a wedding in Syria and I am planning to take a week to travel around the country.

Only an American can understand exactly what I mean … but seriously, thanks to CNN and FOX … just saying, “I am going to Syria” to someone in america gives them deep pain of fear in their viscera.

I bring up crime rate comparisons… I bet more people are assualted, robbed, raped, and murdered each week in Miami than in Tehran and Damascus combined.

5,139 people read my blog yesterday … nearly half from America. Surely, there are readers that have never traveled outside America or Canada…. but hopefully, I can help dispel any negative, or preconceived fears…and inspire someone to travel.

The point is … don’t believe all the crap.

life is one great big learning experience… and a great way to learn is to travel and experience first hand.

make it happen.
