Woke at 7:45 (i slept 3 1/2 hours more than I normally do)
I was very tired the day before, and I was only scheduled weights today so I decided to sleep in which i regreted all day long.
Breakfast: special K, 2 pieces of toast and berries
Lunch: beef filet, piece of bread, small portion of mash potatos and two spoons of ice cream (i took my two daughters out to lunch to Petite Mason, in Nice)
Snack: special K
Weights: I went straight from the office to the gym – I felt lethargic all day long, but had a good work out.
(4 x 15) squats, chest, lat pull down, straight arm lat pull down, reverse leg extentions and seated row
last set of 15 was near failure for squats and chest – the rest 75% of maximum.
normally, I run 30 minutes to warm down, but I had a dinner party to attend and I did not have time so I only ran 15 minutes at 10 km/h
Dinner: We had a small dinner party on the beach in St Jean Cap Ferat
I had one glass of red wine, a piece of bread with olive oil, a vegetable basket and small portion of fish.
smoked two cigars
The party finished late so I went to bed around 12:30am

Comments: I felt like crap all day long … I slept 3.5 hours later than normal, but the extra sleep/or sleeping later had a very negative affect on my body.
My stomach muscles are sore. I ate a lot of raw vegetables – not sure if it was good or bad for my stomach. Smoked two cigars, first cigar in a while. Went to sleep too late.
Total training time: 90 minutes

  1. I blew it again

What happens when you try to eat healthy and one day you find yourself back at petite maison in Nice having an ice-cream plus in the evening a party time having two big cigars and a glass of wine?
If you judge the entire program on that one moment, you may feel like a failure. Depressed and angry with yourself, you might decide this proper diet stuff too hard.
We all have weak moments when we cave in. If you judge the entire program at your weakest moments, it will look pretty futile. But one ice-cream, two cigars and a glass wine does not constitute a failure. One ice-cream, two cigars and a glass of wine binge after a lethargic day at the office isn’t the end of the world.
In fact, reaching short-term goals of fitness, regularity of workouts, body composition changes, or weight loss or gain could be the perfect time to consciously reward you with something on the banned list. Remember, it’s what you do most of the time that counts.

Just leave the cigars – this is for an athlete who wants to be an Ironman not the perfect reward.
